Workshop on CoViD-19: Inflammation and Molecular Imaging

virtual

Dear friends and colleagues,

As representatives of the multidisciplinary community of Physicists/Engineers and Radiologists/Nuclear Medicine specialists, we have been organizing during the last 20 years a series of thematic workshops focused on several organs, their diseases and the specific approaches involving nuclear medicine imaging (for example: breast, prostate, vascular, brain, surgical probes, etc.) with the key goal to put together physicist/technologists and MDs , that typically did not have before a regular forum to  meet and discuss how advanced imaging can benefit their practice and ultimately their patients.

We believe that the strenuous time of CoViD-19, demands for  urgent unprecedented challenges.

There will be certainly a large number of workshops in all biomedical sectors of the CoViD-19 pandemic. However, we also believe that there is still a gap to be filled. It becomes more and more clear that CoViD-19 is a systemic disease attacking the total body; one of the signatures of the disease is inflammation in different parts of the body from the top of the brain to the toes.

We postulate that defining the inflammation map (that is also accompanying many other diseases) – as early as possible and following it as the disease develops, could become a crucial assisting diagnostic tool to understanding and battling this (and other) pandemic. Saving lives and health of many people.

For this reason, we are organizing an imaging workshop on CoViD-19, general enough to be all inclusive, but focused on inflammation (in CoViD-19) and on relevant imaging modalities, primarily Molecular Imaging but also X-ray radiography, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.

You will find in attachment the first bulletin of this thematic conference.

The workshop, “ CoViD-19: Inflammation and Molecular Imaging”,  will be virtual, between May 20 – 23, 2021, with sessions between 15.00 – 19.30 Central European Time (CET).

Connections details will be available with the second bulletin and posted on the indico web site:
